Well today I watched the Vlog of a friend on youtube, and he talked about his dream jobs. And that got me thinking...if I could list my top 5 dream jobs, what would they be?
Well, as some of you may or may not know, I am in the field of science at uni. And the goal is to become a veterinarian by the end of it. But even if that doesn't work out, I still am going to be in the science field, no matter which career I do. I realised that I chose the path to become a vet because it was something that I thought it achievable for me, and something that is stable. I wouldn't say it is my "dream job", but that is not to say that I would hate my job if I was lucky enough to become a Vet. I know it would be very rewarding, and I would enjoy it very much and be very grateful and passionate about it, but it's not a job that comes to mind when I think of jobs in my wildest dreams.
So, if dreams were real, this would be my list of dream jobs. Let's count backwards.
5. Baker
Yeah, I would love to own a bakery. But not one that sells bread and things like that, but specialises in cupcakes and other baked sweets. I am not sure what the technical term for that is, but I shall call it a baker haha. I am not exceptionally great at baking or anything, but it's something that I like to do. And it's the only form of food that I can make that people actually want more of. It would be awesome to have a "signature cupcake" or something that people come to your store just to try it out. And I would decorate the cupcakes in a unique fashion and that's what I would want more store to be known for.
4. Wildlife Photographer
How amazing does this job sound? I have always had a vague interest in photography, and then when I see photos of wildlife, I swoon. It would be amazing to travel to different parts of the world, trekking into areas where humans don't go and capturing moments of nature's creatures in their purest form. Animals are just so beautiful and majestic I think. I would love to be able to capture that essence and show people, so they can share my point of view when I look at a certain animal.
3. Manga/Anime Illustrator
I love drawing anime, and I always make up different characters and write little biographies for them and re use those characters over and over again when I draw. I start to actually love them and build a relationship with them haha. I always find myself not only randomly drawing characters everywhere, but I make up a story that goes behind it. And not many people know this, but I have been drawing little comic strips like this since I was about 10 years old. It all started when my mum got a job at a paper company; she used to bring all the off-cut paper and she always got a bunch of free stationary. So I use to reap the benefits and draw my heart out. It would be so, so, so awesome to see these characters I have created in a manga or anime series. Just to see them brought to life and see other people connect with them. *SIGGGHHHHH*
2. Voice Actresss
Like the above, this interests also came at a very young age. Well, I guess most kids did this: play with a bunch of toys and make each one have a different voice and personality. Well, I really loved doing that, and I love making stupid voices for everything: my dogs, my anime characters, pictures, inanimate objects...everything. I have always wanted to be a voice actress, even if it is just saying one line...I just want to know what it's like. I would love to be the voice for a character in an anime being translated to english, or popular video game. That would be awesome.
1. Musician
Bet no one saw this coming! Hehe. Yeah, my ultimate dream job is to be a musician, In particular, to play guitar or drums in an alternative/indie band. Something like the Temper Trap. I don't even know how to play drums, and I have never been to a guitar lesson haha, but that's why it is a DREAM job. I have a strong passion for music, and to be able to write and perform songs with other people that share your passion would be such a blessing. And then we can tour around the world and share that passion though our songs with people that don't even speak english. Ahh, the power of music. Yep, to me, that would be the best job in the whole entire world. Well, a girl can dream right?
Yeah, so those are my dream jobs. If I was good at any of the above, I probably would have gone down one of those paths. But sadly you need talent for those jobs...and I have none haha. That's why I stuck to science, so I can just learn things and apply them. But honestly, being a Vet would also be so good. I am grateful to be in a science degree right now, on the way to making that become a reality.
