I must be dreaming

Hi all,

I am really sick at the moment. No, not fully sick (although that is true), but just very, very, VERY ill. But that's not exactly what I want to talk about. What I DO want to talk about is the fact that my dreams while I am sick are very strange and are on the verge of nightmares. And they are also very vivid. I thought I probably am not the only one who goes through this, so after a little research I found out why people's dream when they are sick are just so strange and vivid.

Turns out that when you have a fever, the heat plays with your brain activity, causing you to be very restless. This restlessness creates all the dreams because your brain won't stop working. Also, if you have a cold and are finding it hard to breathe, the lack of oxygen causes dreams to become nightmares. I don't really understand the science of it, but no oxygen means bad dreams. And I actually read journal articles, so this information in legit!

Anyway, I thought that was really interesting. I am hoping I'll be getting plenty of oxygen tonight.
