I'm not ready!

Gosh this week has been a good one haha! Uni work has settled down, I'm only working one day (which is also bad, but still good) and I am finding myself with time to spare. IT'S WONDERFUL!

But I have a feeling this weekend will be the last one for a while like this as exams are creeping in on us. I think 2.5 weeks or something till they start? And no, I haven't started revising. But I'm not all that stressed because we have had those mid semester exams and I studied for those, so it's like I only have half the material to study for this time hehe. Oh well, just going to enjoy this weekend for all it's worth and get my study boots on starting next week.

So my mum came back from overseas! It was fun picking her up at the airport. Waiting at the arrivals and seeing all these people come out of the doors, searching through the crowds looking for loved ones, and then when they spot the people they were looking for, the smile that goes across their face! My dad and sister were getting so annoyed waiting for my mum because her flight was delayed and they went and sat down somewhere, but I just stood right near the doors the whole time. Apparently I was standing there for an hour till my mum came! You really don't realise the time passing by because just watching everyone else look so happy reuniting with other people is pretty good entertainment I reckon.

My mum bought me this little fella:

You can't really see the other eye, but there is one. But I named him Cyclops anyway, cause he looks cooler with one eye. He's from a special organisation called "Embark" which is this super fantastic wonderful tremendous program that aids in getting stray animals off the streets and into well cared for conditions, as well as people's homes (if the stray animals are dogs and cats...don't think people want goats as pets...well I do...but still...)! Out of the 7 times I have been to Sri Lanka, the thing that breaks my heart repeatedly is seeing all the stray animals on the street. And I can't even explain how many there are. The street my house is on has about 25 alone...and that's just one street. Imagine the whole country. How there even came to be so many strays gets me thinking. And the people there, I'm not saying everyone, but the general mentality towards these animals is to not care for them. Not because the people hate the animals haha, but because they simply can't. Families struggle to feed themselves everyday, trying to care for the animals around them is asking a bit much. So people have just learned to ignore them.

Every time I go to Sri Lanka I always keep a bit of my meal aside and when no one is looking, I like to feed as much as I can haha. I have to do it when no one is looking because every time they catch me petting a dog or cat they yell "JADE WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? YOU WILL GET RABIES AND DIE, GO AND HAVE A SHOWER" and then I have to have a shower. I dislike unnecessary showers.

So when my mum told me about Embark I was blown away. I always told myself that one day when I become a Vet, I want to work in Sri Lanka for a bit to vaccinate and desex the stray dogs and cats, and perhaps start off a small organisation like Embark (yes, it was a big dream and it's a bit embarrassing haha) because I always thought there wasn't anything like that already in existence. But after hearing about it, I was like HELLZ TO DA YEAHZ!!! If you guys have a few extra dollars or just some time to spare PLEASE visit THIS website. It really is a good cause, and for a country FULL of strays like Sri Lanka, every bit does help! Even if you just spread the word to others! I'm hoping to personally go there and help out for a day or two when I go to Sri Lanka in the upcoming month! I'm pretty excited :D

Oh look at me rambling on, I didn't get to talk about this messed up anime I watched! Yesterday I watched a whole series of this anime called "school days". It started off sweet and innocent, and then it turned just plain wrong. I felt wrong watching the rest, but I wanted to know what happened. It's pretty psychological, it plays with your mind haha. This anime made me realise I am not ready to be in a relationship...I don't think I am mature enough LOL. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone, but I guess if you liked Black Swan, then you'll like this! I also started watching a current anime called "We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day." Even though the name is long and strange the anime is pretty cool! It's about this group of young kids that always used to hang out, and then one of them dies, and they all drifted apart. But now they are all older and one of them can see the ghost of the one that died and yeah! It's pretty cool, but the bad thing is it's a current anime that they are still showing in Japan, so I actually have to wait until episodes are released for me to see what happens next!

Eh, anyways I best be off, gonna enjoy the rest of my Saturday. It has actually stopped raining and the sun has come out!
