Going Over the seas

So tomorrow I leave for Sri Lanka! You'd think I'd be super excited at this point, but I'm just not. I'm really excited for the plane trip, especially cause it's a long flight. But just the actual fact I'm going to Sri Lanka, it just doesn't excite me. Not anything against Sri Lanka, it is such a beautiful country and I will stand by that. I think it's just the fact that I've been there so many times. Like, I memorise the roads and stuff. Ask me how to get to Keel's Supermarket and I can tell you. I also know how to get to Fashion Bug, Majestic City and that little milk bar that I always buy Portello from. I remember the houses on our street so clearly. The shortcut to the bathing well. The side path to the cricket park. I know the locations of each individual ride at that theme park we always go to. What I am trying to say is, it's like a second home to me. And this is an awesome thing, it really is! But it would be nice to go to a country I haven't seen. Somewhere I don't know at all. Someplace where I have to learn my way around, and everything will be new to me. I suppose that's what my trip to Europe is for next year! Oh gosh, I probably sound like such a spoilt brat. I'm going to shut up now. But I gotta admit, writing all this down has gotten me a bit nostalgic and now I am excited to go hahah.

The wedding should be good though, after all, that is the main reason for why we are going. I'm just happy my aunty has finally found love. She has always been my favourite aunty hahah. She's making me do a reading at the wedding. I have no problem with this, but I fear no one will understand my accent. Even when I talk to relative in Sri Lanka, they always tell me they can't understand what I am saying hahahah.

We are also going on a tour for the first 10 days we are there. So I guess that's something new! We are going to go all around the country, to places we haven't seen before, and to some places we have (like the elephant orphanage...gosh I love that place). And apparantly they are all 5 star hotels that we are staying at HEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHE. I do like me some luxury. I don't mean this to offend anyone, but the 5 star hotels in Sri Lanka kick butt compared to the ones in Australia. But Australia ones are awesome too! And one of the places we are staying at is one of my favourite places I have ever been to in my entire life. It was just the most amazing hotel, I can't even explain it. It was right in the middle of the forest, and the walls of the rooms are glass, and the hotel is elevated, so when you walk in your room, it just feels like you are walking on the tree tops. And the thing is, the hotel itself was amazing. The rooms had such detail, the finest furniture, all that fancy stuff. So it was like living in the forest whilst having all the good stuff. AND GET THIS. The place is eco friendly. Run on solar power, all organic food, the paper was made out of elephant dung. It was the first eco friendly hotel to ever be built in the entire world and it's won so much of awards! THE ONLY THING is that when I have a shower, the monkeys in the trees stare at me. Like fo' real. They'll just be swinging, and when I take my clothes off they just look at me. And so did this lizard. And the eagle did too. I felt violated. The mongooses was good though, they never looked at me. Probably because they were trying to get away from the eagle LOL.

Yeah anyway, as you can tell, I really love that hotel. Words can't describe it. I'm really pumped to be staying there again, even if it is just for one night. OH WAIT! I just want to say one more thing. The outdoor pool was kind of on the edge of the hotel, so when you swim in it, you can't see the ground, and because you are so high up, it's like you are swimming in trees. It's pretty cool!

Alright guys, I am excited now. I don't know what I was thinking before! I'll be back in 3.5 weeks to post photos and talk about my adventures! Hope you guys have an awesome break too :D
